Digital Innovation Breaking Ground in Singapore

2020 is a year that will never be forgotten. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused severe disruption to global economic activities and has transformed how people live and work.

As one of the most open economies in the world, Singapore has been hit hard by the virus and remained in lockdown for several months to try to contain the outbreak. Although the lockdown measures have since been lifted, Singapore still faces strict border controls, social-distancing rules, and a foreign worker shortage.

In an effort to boost the economy, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) eased its monetary policy in March, while the government supplied nearly 100 billion Singapore dollars worth of stimulus. According to Edward Bee, Managing Director for SS&C Eze APAC, MAS has been proactive by introducing different loans and assistance programs to help local firms survive amid the economic headwinds from the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the programs, the Digital Acceleration Grant (DAG), incentivizes firms to modernize operations, equipping smaller managers with necessary technology, and helping new funds get off the ground. SS&C Eze is honored to be named an accredited vendor for Eze Eclipse, SS&C Eze’s cloud-native investment management system, as part of the DAG program. As an accredited vendor, SS&C Eze aims to assist local firms in adapting to the new normal and supplying them with digital solutions to help them remain operational, productive, and secure.

Eze Eclipse is an institutional-grade investment management platform that combines operational efficiency and speed to market with system reliability and security. The system streamlines inefficient workflows, automating lower-value and manual processes, and allows for easy mobility and accessibility, so firms can work quickly and efficiently from anywhere. Eze Eclipse was built with data privacy and cyber security fundamentals at the core of its design and is backed by industry-leading security management certifications: ISO 27001, including the controls for ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 (Cloud Security and Cloud Privacy). Bee recently sat down with Hedgeweek to discuss industry trends brought on by the coronavirus, how the right investment management platform can amplify firms' businesses, and how SS&C Eze’s unique partnership approach can help Singapore firms navigate this new environment.
