Extending Innovation Through Collaboration – SS&C Eze’s Eighth Annual Innovation Challenge

SS&C Eze’s much-anticipated Innovation Challenge is back for its 8th year!

In this annual competition, employees self-assemble around an idea and collaborate intensely over two days, creatively tackling any market problem or project that interests them. After two days of coding, employees produce real-world solutions, which are evaluated based on degree of technological innovation, practical value to clients or internal processes, and completeness.

The Innovation Challenge is just one example of SS&C Eze’s culture of innovation at work and has inspired countless new solutions and advancements over the years, many borne out of problems our clients are trying to solve. It has also been invaluable in building camaraderie.

And this year, we’re excited to extend the competition even further – broadening the realm of innovations possible by adding the SS&C Advent team into the mix!

SS&C Eze and SS&C Advent: Partnering in Innovation for 20+ Years

SS&C Eze and SS&C Advent have a rich history of working together, partnering to deliver award-winning solutions to the investment management community for over a decade before becoming part of one company under SS&C.

And since then, we’ve continued to grow our partnership, now serving 80+ joint clients with the combined power of Eze Investment Suite and Geneva, giving them the insights, reliability, and agility to take advantage of investment opportunities in a fast-moving global marketplace.

Strength in Diversity: Last Year’s Champion, Team Calculated Risk

It’s widely accepted that diverse groups make stronger teams. A fact Adam De Rose, Director, Product Management, referenced when interviewed ahead of the 2021 Battle of the Champions, in which the top-scoring Innovation Challenge teams compete head-to-head for the title: “I’m very proud of the fact that with a team of just 4 people ... we’ve ended up with a very diverse group … I think it’s that diversity that’s going to give us the edge for the win.”

And he was right. It was team Calculated Risk that took home the gold in last year’s Innovation Challenge with their idea to use API technology to integrate SS&C Eze’s Eze Investment Suite with another of SS&C’s innovative products - “Algorithmics” - to enhance how clients visualize and run risk scenarios on current and proposed portfolios in a web UI embedded within Eze OMS. This exercise was a testament to both SS&C’s complementary technology offerings and API and web technology’s application in rapid development and learning.

SS&C Eze’s 2022 Innovation Challenge – The Most Collaborative and Competitive Event Yet

Last year, 154 talented Eze employees from across the globe came together virtually to form nearly 30 teams in fierce competition.

And in the eighth annual Innovation Challenge, we are excited to see how the addition of the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of the SS&C Advent team will lead to the most collaborative and competitive event yet!

Best of luck to all of the participants!
