About Fairgreen Capital
Founded in 2019, Andrew Wynn, CFA and Ben Hakham set out to build an investment portfolio based on 50 years of combined investment experience. Based in London, Fairgreen Capital manages a discretionary equity investment process based on structural themes and equity selection while leveraging a quantitative approach to portfolio construction. The process was designed and refined when Mr. Hakham developed the system while serving as CIO of a family office. Shortly after establishment, Fairgreen launched their Beta Neutral, Global Structural Growth Equity Fund. The team aims to adjust the Fund’s volatility to maintain a beta neutral portfolio in order to extract alpha with minimal standard deviation of returns.
As a start-up fund and a two-person team, Andrew and Ben are obligated to wear many hats – portfolio management, trading, compliance, accounting, reporting, as well as others. Without any middle- and back-office resources, Fairgreen began its journey managing their fund with manual, and often tedious, spreadsheet-driven processes. Constantly on-the-go, jumping from meeting to meeting while working to raise capital, Fairgreen lacked a unified platform they could take on-the-road to manage their fund.
Fairgreen needed a system that would unify and automate its investment operations from anywhere so they could focus their efforts on alpha generating activities.
Fairgreen's Solution Requirements
As an emerging investment manager, Fairgreen has set aggressive growth goals, planning to reach $75MM - $100MM by its one-year mark. With this goal, Fairgreen needed a solution that would grow and scale with them. Garnering assets requires countless hours of facetime with clients. Fairgreen needed a “take-anywhere, on-the-go” solution that brought together all facets of their investment operations onto a single, unified platform, at a low-cost.
Fairgreen began their search for an investment technology partner but they found other systems were disparate, expensive, and took too long to implement. Mr. Hakham commented: “We looked at a couple of other competitors, but in terms of total cost of ownership, Eze was the clear favorite. The other products had a division in terms of needing to buy multiple products in order to meet our needs, coupled with longer and more difficult implementations. Eclipse was able to combine all critical investment functionality in one package, and specifically in the cloud.”
As the industry’s first born-in-the-cloud, unified investment management solution and newly launched in Europe, Eze Eclipse was the clear choice for Fairgreen.
Solution & Implementation
"As Fairgreen and Eclipse launched around the same time in Europe, we were extremely excited to be early adopters."

An eagerness to institutionalize their investment operational infrastructure came with a tight deadline to get Fairgreen up and running on Eclipse. Within just weeks of signing on with SS&C Eze, Eclipse went live, rolling out a platform to help them grow and optimize their investment operations. Eclipse’s easy-to-use and easy-to-understand user interface combined with its robust functionality and flexibility led to an easy adoption of the solution. “The SS&C Eze services teams gave us a lot of attention and were careful to have everything in line for the day we went live. We were seriously looked after,” says Mr. Hakham. SS&C Eze’s services teams took the time to gain a deep understanding of the Fairgreen business, workflows, and other processes. He continues to say: “As Fairgreen and Eclipse launched around the same time in Europe, we were extremely excited to be early adopters.”
“There is a degree of robustness, resilience, flexibility, and scalability of our human resources that Eclipse has brought to bear in our daily investment management activity.”

CEO / Fairgreen
Prior to Eclipse, Fairgreen’s investment operations were manual – taking away critical, value-adding time from the team. Using a separate system to execute trades, Fairgreen’s prime brokers would have to manually report over to their administrator. Now, all of that has gone away as Eclipse, with the click of a button, automates that process and sends all critical transaction data to corresponding third-parties.
SS&C Eze, through an expertise developed over years of experience, delivers unparalleled, front-to-back-office investment management solutions. Eclipse can be implemented seamlessly within just weeks – making for a time- and cost-effective platform. When talking about the broad range of capabilities, Andrew adds “There is a degree of robustness, resilience, flexibility, and scalability of our human resources that Eclipse has brought to bear in our daily investment management activity.” As Fairgreen continues to scale, Eclipse’s institutionalization of their investment operations supports their growth in every capacity.
